The goal of this project is to establish and supply a clinical skills simulation lab within our Integrated Education and Training (IET) Nursing Assistant program. As our Adult Workforce Education program launches a morning Nursing Assistant cohort, we need to transform a traditional classroom into a hands-on clinical learning environment equipped with essential healthcare training supplies and simulation equipment.
Many adult learners, including English language learners, enter the program with little or no prior healthcare experience. While classroom instruction provides foundational knowledge, students must have repeated opportunities to practice clinical skills in a realistic setting before attempting the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) examination and entering the workforce. Without adequate simulation resources, students have limited opportunities to build confidence, master required procedures, and develop the professional behaviors expected in healthcare settings.
This project addresses the need for accessible, hands-on training that combines classroom learning with workforce readiness. The simulation lab will allow students to practice patient-care procedures, develop critical thinking skills, and receive immediate feedback in a safe, supportive environment before performing these skills during certification testing or employment.
The project directly supports learning goals aligned with Florida CNA curriculum standards, including patient safety, infection control, communication, personal care skills, restorative care procedures, and patient rights. Students will demonstrate competency in all Florida CNA Prometric-tested skills while strengthening workforce skills such as teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication.
This project also aligns with district priorities by expanding Integrated Education and Training pathways, increasing industry credential attainment, supporting adult learners and English language learners, and preparing students for employment in high-demand healthcare careers. By creating an on-site clinical simulation lab, the district can increase access to workforce training, remove barriers to skill development, and strengthen the local healthcare workforce pipeline.
Project Description
This project will transform a classroom with a clinical skills simulation lab where IET Nursing Assistant students can actively practice essential healthcare skills in a safe, low-risk, and supportive learning environment. It will focus on simulation-based collaborative learning.
What will students do?
Students will participate in hands-on simulation activities throughout the course, using industry-relevant equipment and supplies to reinforce classroom instruction and prepare for state certification requirements.
Hands-On Clinical Skills Practice
Students will use the requested equipment to perform and master CNA certification skills, including:
Mobility and Patient Transfer Training
Using a manual wheelchair, students will learn and practice:
• Safe patient transfers from bed to wheelchair
• Proper wheelchair positioning and safety checks
• Locking wheelchair brakes correctly
• Positioning footrests
• Promoting patient comfort and dignity during transfers
Personal Care and Bedside Procedures
Using a bedside commode and catheter collection equipment, students will practice:
• Measuring urinary output
• Monitoring catheter drainage
• Documentation procedures
• Infection prevention techniques
• Privacy and patient comfort procedures
Hospital Bed-Making and Patient Positioning
Using clinical linens, pillows, and privacy blankets, students will learn and practice:
• Making occupied and unoccupied hospital beds
• Using draw sheets correctly
• Repositioning patients safely
• Side-lying positioning techniques
• Bath blanket procedures
• Maintaining patient dignity and comfort
Dressing and Ambulation Skills
Using scrubs, patient garments, and non-skid footwear (socks and shoes) students will practice:
• Dressing a patient
• Dressing a patient with a weak side
• Ambulating patients safely
• Using gait belts appropriately
• Fall-prevention procedures
Catheter Care Skills
Using Foley catheter training equipment, students will practice:
• Catheter care procedures
• Infection prevention protocols
• Measuring catheter drainage accurately
• Proper documentation techniques
Simulation-Based Learning
Students will participate in realistic patient-care scenarios designed to mirror situations encountered during clinical testing and employment. These simulations move beyond memorization by requiring students to apply clinical procedures while demonstrating communication skills, safety awareness, critical thinking, professionalism, and problem-solving.
Peer Coaching and Collaborative Learning
Students will rotate through the roles of Certified Nursing Assistant, patient, and evaluator. Peer evaluators will use Prometric-aligned clinical skills checklists to provide immediate feedback, identify missed steps, and reinforce competency standards. This collaborative approach promotes engagement, accountability, and deeper understanding of certification requirements.
Career Readiness Integration
Students will participate in mock certification testing experiences that replicate the timing, procedures, and expectations of the Florida CNA Prometric examination. These experiences reduce testing anxiety, improve confidence, and increase readiness for successful credential attainment.
Sustainability and Replication
The requested equipment consists of durable, reusable training materials that will support future cohorts of Nursing Assistant students for years to come. The simulation model can be used in both morning and evening programs, increasing the district's ability to serve additional students while maintaining high-quality instruction. This long-term investment creates a permanent clinical learning environment that can be replicated across future healthcare workforce pathways.
The creation of a clinical skills simulation lab will significantly improve student preparation, confidence, and workforce readiness.
Student Participation Outcomes
• 100% of enrolled students will participate in weekly clinical simulation activities.
• 100% of students will complete all required clinical skills practice sessions.
• Every student will independently perform each Prometric-tested skill a minimum of three times before course completion.

My goal is to provide stationary bikes in our reading classroom to create a purposeful movement station where students can stay physically active while remaining engaged in learning. The flexible learning option will support focus, self-regulation, engagement, and time on task, especially for students who benefit from movement through out the day.
During our literacy block students have many options for flexible seating, including our class stationary bicycles. We currently have 2 and I would like to add a 3rd stationary set up due to its popularity.
Provides movement while learning
Helps channel extra energy - we have lots of this :)
Supports self-regulation
Offer student choice
Promotes healthy habits
With this budget I would be able to purchase another stationary bike with a desk attachment for students to work at during their daily reading block.
Our goal is to encourage students to read by having highly motivating books available to them in their classroom.
Students will read, or be read to, Sunshine State Jr. books in order to be able to participate in the Sunshine State Jr. book election in April 2027. Students will have classroom book discussions and book projects that follow up with the completion of each book title. Students in grades PK3-2nd grade will have access to these book titles to read any time. The students have been very excited in the past with this grant to be able vote on the real voting machines from the Collier County Elections office!
Students will increase their reading fluency scores (STAR reader test) by 5%.
We will need to purchase 1-2 copies each of the Sunshine State Jr. book list for the 2026-2027 school year so all primary teachers can have access to the books in time for the book election in April 2027.

The project goal is to create a peaceful, sensory-friendly learning environment where students can reduce stress, practice self-regulation, and improve focus through the calming presence of a tropical aquarium.
My high school ESE students benefit from a structured, calming environment that supports emotional regulation, focus, and positive engagement. A tropical aquarium with plants will serve as a sensory support and mindfulness tool within our classroom. Students will be encouraged to observe the fish during designated calming and transition times to help reduce stress, refocus attention, and practice self-regulation strategies.
In addition to providing a peaceful classroom atmosphere, the aquarium will be incorporated into classroom activities. Students will observe fish behavior, learn about aquatic ecosystems, discuss responsibility and animal care, and participate in age-appropriate maintenance tasks such as monitoring water conditions and feeding schedules. These activities will help build responsibility, independence, observation skills, and teamwork.
The aquarium will also support social-emotional learning by providing students with opportunities to practice mindfulness, engage in reflective discussions, and develop empathy through the care of living organisms. For students who experience anxiety, sensory challenges, or difficulty maintaining focus, the aquarium will offer a calming visual resource that supports their overall well-being and readiness to learn.
By combining sensory support, social-emotional learning, and hands-on educational experiences, this project will help create a classroom environment where students feel safe, regulated, and prepared to succeed both academically and emotionally.

More than a shirt: Creating belonging, Motivation and Student Success
The goal of this project is to motivate and empower students to take control of their learning and academic growth with the guidance of school leaders and the encouragement of their fellow students. At our school, every student in grades 3-5 belongs to a House—a diverse group of students from different grade levels who come together to build community, encourage one another, and work toward common goals. Our House system is designed to ensure that every student feels that they belong to something bigger than themselves, but at the heart it is about student growth. This project would provide each student with a specially designed House T-shirt as a tangible reminder that “I belong here. I am part of a team. My goals matter. My growth matters.”
Each student and teacher in grades 3-5 is welcomed into a House during a special schoolwide assembly, and each student would receive a T-shirt to represent their House. House leaders will meet regularly with students to look at their current academic data and to help them identify meaningful academic and personal goals. Students learn to reflect on their progress, recognize areas where they have grown, identify areas where they need additional support, and celebrate their accomplishments. These meetings provide students with an opportunity to develop important skills such as goal setting, self-reflection, accountability, perseverance, and leadership.
Throughout the school year, Houses participate in academic and non-academic activities that encourage academic focus, perseverance, positive behavior and school spirit. Students may earn House points through accomplishments such as academic growth, attendance, teamwork, participation, and other positive contributions to our school community. The T-shirts will enhance team identity, and connection during these events, and serve as a tangible reminder of the students’ goal, and those who are there to support and cheer them on as they progress toward that goal.
Learning gains and student growth will be the primary benefits of this project. Last year we introduced the house system, and in 4th and 5th grade we achieved learning gains of 63% in reading and 80% in math.
Other benefits for the students include:
-Creating a stronger sense of belonging and school community
-Building relationships between students across grade levels
-Encouraging teamwork and positive peer relationships
-Supporting student goal setting and accountability
-Providing opportunities for students to reflect on and celebrate their academic growth
-Increasing student motivation and engagement
-Developing leadership skills
-Creating an inclusive House identity for every student
The funds will be used to purchase customized house T-shirts for every student, creating a tangible symbol of belonging, connection, and school pride. These shirts will serve as a daily reminder for students to be accountable to themselves and others by showing up, giving their best effort, and supporting those around them. The T-shirts will also reinforce the message that growth happens through struggle and that no student must face challenges alone. We hope every student will wear their house T-shirt with pride as a symbol of belonging, perseverance, and teamwork. Additional T-shirts will be purchased so that new students can be welcomed into a house and immediately feel part of the team.

Let's Get Moving - Quarterly PE Extension Partnership with Sports C.L.U.B. of Naples
Educational Pathways Academy serves students with language-based learning disabilities, primarily dyslexia. Many of our students also have a diagnosis of ADHD. Our school offers an intensive literacy intervention model embedded within a traditional school setting, and our students participate in an enriching program that includes art, physical education, and robotics in addition to literacy intervention. The goal of our PE program is for students to gain confidence while developing athletic skills, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills. Physical activity is also a meaningful “reset” for our students, who work hard to make academic gains. Physical education is a significant component of our comprehensive program designed to support the growth of the whole child.
My goal with this grant is to enhance the physical education experience for our students and expose them to new games and equipment. This grant request will fund a a partnership with the nonprofit organization, Sports C.L.U.B. of Naples, providing students with four field trips to their facility throughout the school year.
Students will participate in four physical education field trip experiences at Sports C.L.U.B. of Naples during the school year. During each field trip, students will rotate in groups through a variety of activities such as gymnastics, basketball, dodgeball, soccer, and independent open play. Activities will be led by Sports C.L.U.B. activity directors and adapted based on students’ age, developmental needs, skill levels, and our school’s stated goals for the visit.
The partnership will provide students with access to facilities and equipment that EPA cannot currently offer on campus, including a large playground structure, regulation-size indoor and outdoor courts, and gymnastics equipment. The variety of activities will allow students to try new sports and forms of movement in a safe, structured environment while developing physical skills, confidence, teamwork, communication, and independence. Each field trip will combine guided instruction and organized games with opportunities for students to explore activities more independently.
A pilot program with Sports C.L.U.B. Naples was developed during the 25-26 school year, and our students and my fellow faculty members had a very positive experience. Students enthusiastically engaged with the instructors and quickly adapted to new games and rules. In addition to being an outstanding opportunity for physical movement, students and teachers bonded through play and exploration. When school started this year, my students were asking when we could go back.
I expect students to demonstrate increased engagement in physical activity, stronger social skills through team-building and cooperative games, and greater enthusiasm for movement and wellness. Students will also have opportunities to build confidence as they try unfamiliar activities, develop new skills, and interact with peers in a different environment.
Success will be measured in ways that are meaningful to this experience: active participation, positive engagement, and students expressing a desire to participate again. Because this grant will fund four visits throughout the school year, I expect to see a more meaningful and sustained benefit for our students. Multiple visits will also allow me to collect feedback from teachers and administrators and provide guidance to Sports C.L.U.B. staff on how they can best support and challenge our students and build upon positive experiences from previous visits. This consistent and cumulative approach will provide students with a meaningful enhancement to our existing PE program.
I hope to see plenty of “sweaty kids and happy faces” as evidence that students were challenged, engaged, and enjoying physical activity. The success of the pilot program and positive student feedback provide a strong foundation for continuing and expanding this partnership.
Following the visits, teachers will gather feedback through direct conversations with students and a brief student survey. Observations of participation, cooperation, willingness to try new activities, and overall student response will also help EPA evaluate the impact of the program and determine the value of continuing the partnership.
We are requesting funding for four SportsClub physical education extension field trips during the 26-27 school year. Sports C.L.U.B. has offered this program below their cost - they are providing bus transportation, a driver, fuel, plus usage of their facility, equipment, and coaching staff. Grant funds will cover the full cost of four field trips that will span the 26-27 school year.

To make our academic teams feel as special as our sports teams.
To reward students for choosing to showcase their brains.
To encourage continued participation.
At the end of the school year, we will have a banquet for all students who were part of academic teams - such as Academic Quest, Scholar Challenge, Noetic Math, The Great History Challenge, Spelling Bee, etc.
To make students feel it was worth it to give up after school, before school times, and weekends to participate in events that highlight brain power. To make students feel a sense of pride that they earned their own banquet for their efforts. To treat these students to their own banquet and to give them a small token celebrating their hard work.
Food for the banquet - about $10 per student = $1000
Recognition to commemorate the success of our champions such as a t-shirt or other gift - $10 per student - $1000
The goal of Chomp Into Reading: Gator Rewards for Readers is to increase reading engagement, comprehension, and motivation among students at East Naples Middle School. As a Title 1 school, our students benefit from additional opportunities that make academic success exciting, attainable, and rewarding. Through a point-based incentive program, students will earn rewards for completing reading comprehension tests and demonstrating consistent reading effort. The goal of Bird Nerds is to engage 4th and 5th grade students in authentic, hands-on science through bird observation. Students will learn to identify local Florida bird species, observe their behaviors and adaptations, and collect and record real-world data. Through weekly observations, students will track bird species and populations, compare their findings over time and across locations, and use their data to recognize patterns and draw scientific conclusions. The project will build students’ skills in observation, data collection, classification, and scientific thinking while developing an appreciation for the wildlife in their own community.
Bird Nerds will meet weekly for one hour after school. Students will participate in outdoor bird observations using binoculars and field guides to identify local species by their appearance, behavior, habitat, and calls. Students will record the species and number of birds they observe, keep individual birding journals, and collect data throughout the school year. They will compare observations over time, look for patterns, create graphs, and discuss how factors such as season, weather, and habitat may affect bird activity. Students will also be encouraged to make observations at home and use the free Merlin Bird ID app when a device is available. These experiences will allow students to practice real scientific skills while investigating the birds living in their own community.
Bird Nerds will give students the opportunity to experience science beyond the classroom through authentic observation and data collection. Students will strengthen their ability to identify and classify local bird species, make careful observations, collect and organize data, recognize patterns, and draw conclusions from evidence. Success will be measured through student birding journals, recorded species counts, graphs, and comparisons of observations throughout the year. Students will also develop a greater understanding and appreciation of Florida’s native wildlife and the environment in their own community.
Grant funds will be used primarily to purchase quality binoculars and Florida bird field guides for Bird Nerds. Binoculars will allow students to safely observe birds closely without disturbing them, while field guides will ensure that every student can participate in bird identification regardless of access to a personal device. Funds will also support individual birding journals for recording observations and data.
Palmetto Elementary has already committed funding for bird feeders and birdseed. This grant will build upon that investment by providing the specialized equipment students need to observe, identify, and study the birds attracted to our campus. The binoculars and field guides will be reusable, allowing the project to benefit Bird Nerds students for many years.

Additional Details
For the last three years students have produced a yearbook for the Pace Center for Girls Collier at Immokalee (a public alternative school in Immokalee for girls who have experienced trauma and are underperforming in their community school due to trauma related social, emotional, or mental health needs). The first year we had one camera that broke near the end of the year. There has not been available funding to replace it. Last year and the year before we use cell phone cameras to take photos for our yearbook. The photographs are decent and the yearbooks are small (about 40 pages), but part of the curriculum for the journalism/yearbook credit includes some basic photography and camera knowledge. They learn the techniques but are currently unable to practice them. The goal with funding is to provide students the opportunity to practice what they learn in the classroom with intermediate level cameras (and related equipment: bags, straps, batteries, memory cards, etc.) to offer broader options with the settings than a cell phone does; to practice the settings and angles we talk about that create mood for yearbook pages and allow them to participate in taking portraits of fellow students. Due to our students past trauma, many girls are very uncomfortable with adults or people they don't know well photographing them, but they are very relaxed with their peers. Having student photographers would make it so much easier and digital cameras would really help with quality photos for our yearbook project this year.
As they learn the art and techniques of photography, students will be taking the portraits and candid shots for the Yearbook. They also create the pages and layouts for the yearbook before participating in photo selection to best represent the school year. Students who are in the Journalism/Yearbook class learn principals of photography including, lighting, composition, framing, contrast, balance, editing. They also learn production and design including organization and page layouts, text features, quotes, and interviews. The lessons and activities they engage in are graded and students may earn the fine art credit required for high school graduation.
Students education in any setting should be positive and productive. They should have the chance to look back at their time in an alternative school environment much in the same way with access to the classes and memories of traditional public school, they are provided with a way to celebrate and foster good memories and productive learning to earn the credits needed for graduation. They have a chance to develop their creativity and build skills while they explore how to shape, express, and create a photo journal story of the school year. Most students find new forms of artistic expression in photography or layout and design. This is one of only two classes that we are able to offer for students to earn their fine art credit for graduation - a huge benefit for our upper class students who need to meet the graduation requirement.

The ChompSaws will be used to create cardboard armatures for papier-mâché sculptures and construct architectural models during our architecture unit. Students will use these tools throughout the design process, from planning and prototyping to building and refining their final projects.
Currently, students rely on basic cutting tools that can make cardboard construction challenging and time-consuming. ChompSaws will provide a safer and more efficient way for
students to work with cardboard, allowing them to create stronger structures, more detailed designs, and larger-scale projects. Increased access to these tools will promote creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and hands-on learning while reducing frustration and increasing student independence. By funding these tools, donors will help students transform recycled cardboard into meaningful works of art while exploring concepts in sculpture, architecture, engineering, and design. This investment will provide lasting benefits for multiple classes and grade levels for years to come.
My goal is that our over 800 students, many of which come from homes where English is the second language, will be able to increase their vocabulary. In order to do this, one key component is understanding the meaning of words. It is important for students to understand how to use dictionaries, as opposed to solely website based definitions, as it assists with spelling, memory, comprehension, parts of speech, and researching skills. The necessity of these dictionaries is amplified by the fact that we are a Title I school; many of our parents cannot carry the cost of providing a dictionary for each child.
Students will use these dictionaries to identify unknown words in class. They will also be used to identify and understand roots, prefixes, and affixes. They will be used throughout the school year to assist students with spelling, increased reading comprehension, vocabulary practice, and connotative versus denotative meaning.
The benefits of having a classroom set in each ELA class will provide students with the opportunity to achieve success in the classroom and allow them to understand unfamiliar words, thereby increasing their vocabulary. As students grow from each grade level, they will have an increased vocabulary achievement level which will help them perform higher in both state assessments and SAT and ACT exams for college admission.

The goal of this project is to increase student engagement, understanding, and retention of second-grade science concepts by providing students with interactive standards-aligned learning experiences through Generation Genius. This resource will help make abstract science concepts more concrete and accessible through engaging videos, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and real-world connections.
Generation Genius will be used throughout the school year to enhance our second-grade science curriculum. Lessons will incorporate engaging science videos, demonstrations, vocabulary development, discussion questions, reading materials, and hands-on activities that allow students to see and experience science concepts, rather than simply read about them.
Generation Genius will be used to introduce new concepts, reinforce classroom instruction, build academic vocabulary, and provide opportunities for students to apply their learning. The visual and interactive components will also help make science content more accessible to students with varying learning needs and academic levels. By connecting our science standards to real-world examples and hands-on experiences, students will have opportunities to become curious, engaged learners who think and work like young scientists.
Students will benefit from having science concepts presented in engaging, visual, and interactive ways that go beyond a traditional textbook or worksheet. Generation Genius will help make challenging or abstract concepts easier for second graders to understand through real-world examples, demonstrations, videos, and hands-on learning opportunities. This is especially valuable for visual learners, English Language Learners, and students who may struggle with reading complex informational texts. Students will build science vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, make connections between classroom learning and the world around them, and have opportunities to develop curiosity and critical-thinking skills. At our Title I school, access to high-quality supplemental resources can help provide students with engaging learning experiences they may not otherwise have.
Grant funds will be used to purchase a one-year Generation Genius classroom subscription at a total cost of $250. This digital instructional resource will provide students with access to standards-aligned science lessons, engaging educational videos, demonstrations, vocabulary resources, reading materials, discussion questions, quizzes, and hands-on activities. This subscription will be an enhancement to our existing second-grade science curriculum with engaging resources that help students to better explore and understand the concepts we are studying throughout the school year. Funding will cover the full cost of the one-year subscription, allowing students to benefit from these resources throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

The goal of this project is to continue our Crafting for a Cause club by supplying the materials we need to run our club.
Our service-focused arts and crafts club was established last year for students in grades 2-5 with the generous support of a Champions for Learning grant. The club meets monthly, and each meeting is dedicated to creating a meaningful craft project that benefits a local charitable organization. Planned projects include handmade cards for hospitalized children, painted flower pots with flowers for nursing home residents, bracelets for participants at the Dubin Center who are living with Alzheimer's disease, cozy blankets for kittens at SNIP Collier, kindness rocks to spread throughout the community during National Kindness Month, and birthday cake kits for families served by a local food pantry. Through these hands-on activities, students develop creativity and artistic skills while learning the value of compassion, community service, and giving back to others.
This project will benefit our community by providing handmade crafts created by local students while strengthening connections between community members and our schools. It also supports students by nurturing their creativity and appreciation for the arts, while fostering a sense of empathy, service, and civic responsibility. Through this experience, students learn the importance of giving back and making a positive impact on the lives of others. Last year, students learned about various individuals and groups in our community who needed support, and they were excited and proud to contribute in meaningful ways. This project builds on that enthusiasm by providing additional opportunities for students to use their talents to serve others and strengthen our community.
The money will be used to purchase the supplies needed for our monthly crafts.

Shining Stars for our Shelves: Award-Winning Books for Every Reader
The main purpose of "Shining Stars for our Shelves: Award-Winning Books for Every Reader" is to expand access to high-quality, award-winning books, strengthen the library’s collection, and promote literacy by providing engaging, diverse, and carefully selected books that appeal to all readers, including those who may be underserved or less likely to read. Additional goals are to read each of the books and take an Accelerated Reading quiz on each book which will earn points for the student and their class. Accelerated Reader is a School and District priority. By providing and encouraging students to read these books, I hope that they will enjoy the opportunity of reading for pleasure and instill a love of reading.
Students will engage in independent reading /read alouds, book discussions, and take comprehension quizzes on these books. They will have access to Sunshine State Reader (Fiction) and Sunshine State Reader Jr., titles for 2026-2027.
If my request is funded, adding these award-winning books to the library collection will help elementary students with vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension. The titles are all new and recently published books which create high interest to our students and they take pride in reading these books as they are highlighted in the Media Center on a display. Reading these books will help students build stronger language skills, boost their critical thinking, and introduce them to diverse perspectives. These high-quality stories spark a lifelong love for reading by offering engaging plots and rich vocabulary tailored for young minds. Progress can be measured through reviewing students Accelerated Reader scores and book discussions with groups.
The requested funds ($285.00) will be used to purchase five Sunshine State Reader (3-5) books, and all of the Sunshine State Reader Jr. (K-2) books. Sunshine State Young Reader Award books are fiction, recently published, high interest titles. The titles to be purchased are listed and the books will support all 464 students at Golden Gate Elementary School in the Media Center.
My goal is to grow my students love of reading and foster leadership skills by creatong a Reader Leader club.
I plan to create a Leader In Me: Reader Leader Club consisting of up to 30 students grades K-3.
During the club time students will have an opportunity to read independently, listen to picture book read alouds and learn about different book genres.
Each club meeting will have a different theme. Some examples are: flashlight reading, sleepover (read with pillows and blankets), glow in the rark reading , and buddy reading.
Every student will receive a custom reader leader shirt that they can wear on club days. These shirts will give the students a sense of pride in being one of the school's Reader Leaders.
At the end of the year, each student will receive a book of their choosing that will be theirs to keep and add to their home library.
This club will be an additional opportunity for my avid readers to enjoy reading and sharing books in a leisurely and fun setting.
These supplies are enough to get us through an entire year of club meetings.
Students will develop and practice design and technology skills by using the XTool laser engraver to create and personalize a variety of products. Students will apply their creativity, problem-solving, and digital design skills to develop product ideas and transform their designs into finished, laser-engraved products. Through hands-on practice, students will learn how to safely operate the equipment, prepare designs for engraving, and evaluate and improve their finished products.
Students will create items to help market and promote the school academy, as well as develop personalized products that can be used as school gifts for teachers and staff. They will also have opportunities to design and create personal items that can be kept as lasting memories for years to come. Through this hands-on experience, students will learn how to create digital designs, prepare materials, operate the laser engraver safely, and produce finished products.
Students will use creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and attention to detail while developing products that have a purpose and value within the school community. The experience will also introduce students to entrepreneurship and product development by allowing them to create items that could potentially be marketed and sold.
This grant will provide materials and supplies for students to use with the XTool laser engraver throughout the school year. The materials will support hands-on projects in which students design and create a variety of products for the school academy, teacher and staff gifts, school marketing, and personal keepsakes. These supplies will give students the opportunity to apply creativity, design, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship skills while producing high-quality, meaningful items using the XTool machine.
My goal is to engage my students by bringing my read alouds to life by adding background music and sound effects using the Novel Effects app.
Novel Effect delivers interactive music, sound effects, and character voices that are programed to respond to my voice as I read aloud from our library books during regular read aloud time.
As the story is read, Novel Effect gives students a more immersive experience, so they are engaged and on the edge of their seats with their focus on me. The story effects are for the books we already use in our curriculum and have in our library.
Students can also use this app during our STEAM centers to encourage and motivate them to read independently.
Anything that can motivate and encourage my students to read is a plus. When I read aloud to a student or classroom with Novel Effect, the students are much more engaged and therefore are more likely to comprehend the story being read.
The app mimics their desire to watch a video but it’s real life. The story is being read by a real human (either me or a student,) but the sound effects make the story come to life. This is particularly helpful for our youngest learners, the English language learners and out special needs students.
This is for a one year subscription to the Novel Effect app and its resources.

My goal for this project is to have fourth grade students act in the production of Finding Nemo Kids! Students will learn to sing, dance and act in the style of musical theatre. The community will then get to experience life under the ocean with the cast of Finding Nemo as they show off their hard work on stage!
Students will get to learn how to sing, dance and act in a musical theatre style. Students will build confidence on stage and develop a love for the musical arts. It will help create better friendships and school community as students will interact with peers that may not be in their class.
The benefits of this will be that students can try something new. Most kids at the elementary level have never acted in a musical before. It will help build confidence for students that may struggle with putting themselves outside of their comfort zone. It will also help students improve their musical abilities by giving them extra singing and dancing opportunities.
The purpose for funding this project is so that the funds in the music department can be used to get updated supplies for the classroom which will impact the entire school. This project impacts just the fourth grade students.

Treasure Every Success: Schoolwide Academic Incentive Program
Christina Roman
ID-2364
This application has been fully funded
Thank you to everyone who supported this submission. Please consider directing your support to another open application.
The goal of Treasure Every Success is to increase student motivation, engagement, and academic achievement by recognizing students for successfully completing and passing instructional lessons and demonstrating continued academic growth.
Students in grades K–5 will have the opportunity to earn recognition for their hard work and academic success. When students successfully pass designated i-Ready lessons with a score of 80% or higher, they will earn an i-Ready Lesson Pass Ticket. These tickets will be entered into weekly grade-level drawings, giving students an opportunity to be recognized schoolwide and select a prize from our academic treasure box.
Through consistent recognition and positive reinforcement, this project will encourage students to take ownership of their learning, persevere through challenging tasks, set goals, and celebrate academic growth.
Our elementary students work throughout the school year to strengthen their reading skills through classroom instruction, intervention, small-group instruction, and personalized i-Ready learning.
Treasure Every Success will create an additional layer of excitement around academic achievement.
Each time a student passes an eligible i-Ready lesson with 80% mastery or higher, the student will receive a Lesson Pass Ticket to submit into his or her grade-level drawing. Each week, students from every grade level will be selected and publicly recognized for their academic success. Selected students will visit the school treasure box and choose a small prize.
Prizes will include age-appropriate items such as pencils, pens, erasers, bookmarks, stickers, small notebooks, fidget items, sensory toys, keychains, small games, art supplies, and other educational or motivational rewards.
The incentive is intentionally connected to mastery rather than simple completion. Students must demonstrate success on their instructional lesson before receiving a ticket. This helps reinforce the message that effort, perseverance, careful work, and mastery are worth celebrating.
The program will operate throughout the school year and will provide opportunities for students across grades K–5 to participate.
This project will provide students with immediate and meaningful recognition for academic effort and achievement.
For many students, particularly those who may struggle academically, reaching an academic goal can require significant persistence. Small incentives paired with positive recognition can make progress visible and give students something tangible to work toward while developing the intrinsic confidence that comes from experiencing success.
Students will be encouraged to:
Increase their effort and engagement during personalized instruction.
Work toward achieving 80% or higher mastery on i-Ready lessons.
Take greater ownership of their individual learning goals.
Persevere when academic tasks become challenging.
Celebrate academic growth and the success of their peers.
Develop positive attitudes toward reading and learning.
Understand that consistent effort leads to progress.
Because this is a schoolwide K–5 initiative, hundreds of students will have opportunities to participate throughout the year. The program will also provide teachers with another tool for celebrating student progress and creating excitement around academic growth.
Ultimately, Treasure Every Success will help build a school culture in which students recognize that learning, growth, perseverance, and achievement are accomplishments worth celebrating.
Grant funds will be used to purchase a variety of small, age-appropriate student incentives for our schoolwide academic treasure box. Because the program serves students in Kindergarten through fifth grade, having a variety of prizes will allow students of different ages and interests to select something meaningful to them.
Funds will primarily support consumable and replenishable incentives so the program can continue throughout the school year as students earn recognition for academic mastery.
No gift cards or food items are included in this request. Funds will directly support materials used to recognize and encourage student academic achievement.

The goal of this project is to provide students with the equipment needed to safely participate in hands-on science investigations and experiments. By purchasing science lab coats, safety goggles, timers, switch-its, and trays to organize and hold materials, students will be able to engage in meaningful scientific inquiry while following proper safety procedures. These resources will create a safer, more organized learning environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of science concepts through active, collaborative experimentation.
These resources will enable all students to actively participate in inquiry-based science activities. By creating a safe and well-organized learning environment, students will be able to focus on observing, questioning, experimenting, and drawing conclusions. The project will support academic growth, increase student engagement, and help build the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for success in science. Through the use of lab coats, safety goggles, and experiment trays, students will be able to actively engage in the science and engineering practices outlined in state science standards and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Specifically, this project supports students in planning and carrying out investigations, making observations and collecting data, analyzing and interpreting results, and using evidence to explain scientific phenomena.
The benefits of this project are increased student participation and enthusiasm during science experiments; improved ability to follow laboratory safety rules and procedures; higher-quality science journals, lab reports, and investigation reflections; improved performance on science quizzes, tests, and standards-based assessments; greater student confidence when conducting experiments and using scientific tools; increased collaboration and problem-solving during group investigations.
Lab coats will promote laboratory safety by protecting students' clothing during hands-on investigations. They will also help students develop a sense of responsibility and excitement as they take on the role of young scientists, increasing engagement and fostering a positive science culture in the classroom.
Safety goggles are an essential safety tool that will protect students' eyes during experiments and investigations. Wearing goggles will help students develop safe laboratory habits and understand the importance of following safety procedures.
Timers will support effective classroom management by helping students stay focused and on task during experiments, discussions, and science stations. Timers encourage time management skills, create smooth transitions between activities, and maximize instructional time.
Science trays will keep materials organized and easily accessible during investigations. They will help students manage supplies efficiently, reduce setup and cleanup time, and provide designated workspaces for conducting experiments. This organization allows students to focus more on scientific inquiry and less on managing materials.

The Lines That Guide: Safe Fields for Bright Futures
The primary goal of introducing the Champion Sports Field Striping Machine is to eliminate physical safety hazards on our physical education fields by replacing loose, faded plastic cones with permanent, high-visibility boundaries. By utilizing bright, semi-permanent paint lines, we will drastically reduce student tripping injuries during high-speed active games and create unmistakable game zones that young learners can easily identify. This structural upgrade will maximize student engagement and instructional time, as classes will no longer be disrupted by shifted markers or confusing boundaries. Ultimately, this equipment provides a durable, weather-resistant solution that saves budget resources otherwise spent on sun-damaged plastic, fostering a professional and secure environment where students can focus entirely on developing fitness and teamwork skills.
This project brings a Champion Sports Field Striping Machine and 2 cases of Champion Marking Paint to our elementary school field. As a P.E. teacher, I want to replace old plastic cones with permanent, clean lines. Cones move when hit and cause kids to fall and get hurt. Sun rays also ruin the color of cones quickly. Sprayed field lines stay fixed in place, withstand bad weather, and can be touched up easily. This machine lets us paint precise tracks and fields for soccer, kickball, and fitness runs.
Implementing the Champion Sports Field Striping Machine brings immediate benefits to student safety, instructional quality, and school resources. By replacing loose plastic cones with crisp, painted boundaries, we instantly eliminate common tripping hazards, ensuring a much safer environment during high-speed P.E. games. These high-visibility lines stay firmly in place, allowing young students to easily identify game zones, which reduces boundary confusion and keeps the focus entirely on active play and teamwork. Unlike traditional cones that quickly warp and fade under the harsh Florida sun, weather-resistant field paint provides a durable solution that can be easily touched up, saving valuable class time and school budget space. Ultimately, this equipment elevates our physical education program by transforming an open grass field into a structured, professional, and secure space for student fitness.
The purpose of this funding is to directly address a critical student safety and instructional quality issue on our physical education fields. Currently, our P.E. program relies on plastic cones to mark game boundaries, which frequently cause tripping hazards as elementary students collide with or trip over them during high-speed activities. Furthermore, intense sun exposure quickly discolors and warps these plastic markers, requiring frequent, costly replacements from a limited budget. Funding this request will allow us to transition to a professional, semi-permanent boundary system. By replacing hazardous cones with crisp, highly visible painted lines, we will create a secure, structured outdoor classroom that minimizes injuries, optimizes instructional time, and provides students with the clear visual markers they need to successfully learn and play.
The requested total funds will be used exclusively to procure the essential hardware and supplies needed to establish safe, visible athletic fields. Specifically, the funding will cover one Champion Sports Field Striping Machine, a durable, long-term equipment investment that allows for straight, precise line application on grass. The remaining portion of the budget will purchase two Champion Marking Paint Cases, providing the initial supply of weather-resistant, bright aerosol paint designed specifically for grass fields. This paint withstands sun exposure and foot traffic far better than plastic cones, and can be easily touched up weeks later. This combined purchase represents a highly cost-effective investment that eliminates the recurring expense of replacing sun-damaged cones while immediately elevating the safety and professional quality of our school’s playing fields.
