My goal is to grow my students love of reading and foster leadership skills by creatong a Reader Leader club.
I plan to create a Leader In Me: Reader Leader Club consisting of up to 30 students grades K-3.
During the club time students will have an opportunity to read independently, listen to picture book read alouds and learn about different book genres.
Each club meeting will have a different theme. Some examples are: flashlight reading, sleepover (read with pillows and blankets), glow in the rark reading , and buddy reading.
Every student will receive a custom reader leader shirt that they can wear on club days. These shirts will give the students a sense of pride in being one of the school's Reader Leaders.
At the end of the year, each student will receive a book of their choosing that will be theirs to keep and add to their home library.
This club will be an additional opportunity for my avid readers to enjoy reading and sharing books in a leisurely and fun setting.
These supplies are enough to get us through an entire year of club meetings.
