The goal of this project is to provide students with the equipment needed to safely participate in hands-on science investigations and experiments. By purchasing science lab coats, safety goggles, timers, switch-its, and trays to organize and hold materials, students will be able to engage in meaningful scientific inquiry while following proper safety procedures. These resources will create a safer, more organized learning environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of science concepts through active, collaborative experimentation.
These resources will enable all students to actively participate in inquiry-based science activities. By creating a safe and well-organized learning environment, students will be able to focus on observing, questioning, experimenting, and drawing conclusions. The project will support academic growth, increase student engagement, and help build the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for success in science. Through the use of lab coats, safety goggles, and experiment trays, students will be able to actively engage in the science and engineering practices outlined in state science standards and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Specifically, this project supports students in planning and carrying out investigations, making observations and collecting data, analyzing and interpreting results, and using evidence to explain scientific phenomena.
