The goal of this project is to bring ChompSaw cardboard cutters to our art classroom, giving students access to a safe, easy-to-use tool for cutting and constructing with cardboard. ChompSaws allow students to create precise cuts and connections, making it possible to build sculptures, architectural models, papier-mâché armatures, and collaborative installations from recycled materials. By providing these tools, students will have greater opportunities to engage in hands-on learning, creative problem-solving, and artistic
exploration. This project will help transform simple cardboard into meaningful works of art while fostering.
Students will use ChompSaw cardboard cutters to design and construct cardboard armatures for papier-mâché sculptures and create architectural models as part of our
architecture unit. They will sketch ideas, measure and cut cardboard pieces, assemble structures, and refine their designs throughout the creative process. The ChompSaws will
allow students to make precise cuts and sturdy connections, helping them build stronger, more detailed projects than would be possible with traditional classroom tools. Through these hands-on experiences, students will develop creativity, spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and engineering skills while exploring important art concepts such as form, structure, and design. By transforming recycled cardboard into sculptures and architectural creations, students will gain confidence in their abilities and experience the satisfaction of bringing their ideas to life.
Funding will be used to purchase ChompSaw cardboard cutters for our art classroom. These tools are specifically designed to cut and connect cardboard safely and accurately, allowing students to create sturdy structures and detailed designs from recycled materials. Students will use the ChompSaws to build armatures for papier-mâché sculptures and construct models during our architecture unit. Currently, students rely on basic cutting tools that can make cardboard construction challenging and time-consuming. ChompSaws will provide a safer, more efficient way for students to create precise cuts, increasing their independence and allowing them to focus on creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving. The tools will be used across multiple grade levels and projects throughout the school year, maximizing their impact. By funding this project, donors will help provide hands-on learning experiences that foster artistic expression, design thinking, collaboration, and innovation.
Funding will be used to purchase 2 ChompSaw cardboard cutters ($249 each; total $498 plus taxes equals $530.37) for use in our art classroom. These specialized tools allow
students to safely and accurately cut, shape, and connect cardboard for three-dimensional art projects. The ChompSaws will be used to create cardboard armatures for papier-mâché sculptures and construct architectural models during our architecture unit. Students will use these tools throughout the design process, from planning and prototyping to building and refining their final projects.
Currently, students rely on basic cutting tools that can make cardboard construction challenging and time-consuming. ChompSaws will provide a safer and more efficient way for
students to work with cardboard, allowing them to create stronger structures, more detailed designs, and larger-scale projects. Increased access to these tools will promote creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and hands-on learning while reducing frustration and increasing student independence. By funding these tools, donors will help students transform recycled cardboard into meaningful works of art while exploring concepts in sculpture, architecture, engineering, and design. This investment will provide lasting benefits for multiple classes and grade levels for years to come.
