To support our students in an active and fun way of introducing striking, throwing, and
catching objects to support volleyball skills as well as other activities that use the same
movements. This equipment will be used in PE class to learn and develop the necessary skill sets, and then be utilized in school-wide activities, such as Field Day, Fall Festival, End of Year Celebrations, etc.
9 Square is an active game that is played like 4 square, but up in the air. Nine students are
playing at once, while trying to keep a ball up in the air and not allowing it to fall in their
square or hit it out of bounds. Students are able to use different types of balls, while also
raising the height of the equipment to strike, catch, and throw to another square, increasing
or decreasing the difficulty based on the abilities of each age group.
9 square is a great way to help our younger students begin to strike and catch a ball using
the proper movements to be successful, while also throwing to others and using the idea of
teamwork and sharing. These ideas are also used with the older students, while also
focusing in on more specific skills that prepare them for volleyball in middle school and
making the game more fast paced and exciting. The 9 Square equipment will allow more
students to be playing at once, which will help them have more time to practice their skills
based on their particular level.
Grant funds will cover the 9 Square equipment, taxes and shipping cost that is purchased
from Castle Sports.

The goal of the STEAM Studio Project is to provide students with hands-on opportunities to explore the connections between art and science through creative experimentation.
Students will investigate scientific concepts such as motion, gravity, air pressure, chemical reactions, color mixing, and engineering design while creating original works of art. Using nontraditional materials and processes, including slime-making, bubble art, pendulum painting, airbrush systems made from recycled markers, and foil printing, students will engage in inquiry-based learning that encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation. This project will help students see that art and science are interconnected disciplines that both rely on observation, experimentation, and creative thinking. By expanding access to unique materials and experiences, students will develop critical thinking skills, take creative risks, and build a deeper understanding of STEAM concepts in an engaging and memorable way.
The STEAM Studio Project will provide students with engaging, hands-on experiences that connect visual arts, science, engineering, and creativity. Funding will be used to purchase materials and supplies that support STEAM-based art and science investigations in the elementary art classroom. Funds will provide consumable materials for activities such as slime-making, bubble art, pendulum painting, foil printing, and color-mixing experiments. Funding will also support the purchase of specialty tools including marker airbrush systems, replacement components, containers, measuring tools, protective coverings, and storage solutions for STEAM materials.
These supplies will allow students to engage with materials and processes that are not typically available in a traditional art classroom. By incorporating science-based experimentation into art instruction, students will have opportunities to investigate scientific concepts through hands-on creative experiences. The requested materials will be used across multiple grade levels throughout the school year, maximizing the impact of the funding and providing meaningful interdisciplinary learning opportunities for hundreds of students.
The goal of The Panther Post, the School Counseling Newsletter for all Gulfview Middle School families, is to help parents and students stay informed about what's going on in and around our GVM community. The Newlsetter is published through a publication website called, "Smore". Over the last three years of creating this communication piece, I have seen success in helping parents stay involved in their child's education in beautiful ways. Parents are able to have conversations with their child about upcoming school events, visit various activities and events in our community as a family, and help their child feel independent through gentle reminders about upcoming due dates and deadlines. Whether parents live with their student or abroad, this newsletter reaches families of all types and helps connect children and parents in meaningful and practical ways.
The Newsletter is comprised of several "articles" each month, all designed to promote connection and purpose in our students and their families:

2. "Dates to Know": Upcoming dates/events at Gulfview Middle
3. Multiple articles providing details for upcoming events, school wide initiatives, how parents can be involved, and more

The wonderful this about this platform for Newsletter publication is the data provided about the newsletter. Smore, the company that is used to publish the newsletter, provides monthly data on how many parents are reading the newsletter, the average time they spend when reading it, if/when links provided are clicked, and more. It is from this data that the newsletter is able to see what is most helpful to provide to our families and capitalize on that to best serve our GVM family and community.
The subscription is a one-time yearly fee of that will cover all our monthly newsletters and even additional notices we may send out through Smore (community Food Banks, special events, etc) through August, 2027.

The goal of the L.I.F.E. (Learning Independent Functional Employment) Program’s Investing in Tomorrow's Workplace- Intern Recognition Program is to spotlight and reinforce an intern who is demonstrating positive workplace behaviors. The recognition program also hopes to increase student engagement, confidence, and employability skills among young adults with special needs, ages 18 to 22. The L.I.F.E. Program is offered through Barron Collier High School in partnership with Royal Poinciana Golf Club and Collier County Public Schools. Royal Poinciana Golf Club fosters a workplace culture grounded in the core values of integrity, teamwork, respect, accountability, trust, honesty, and stewardship. All employees are expected to uphold these values, which the club consistently models throughout. Likewise, our interns are expected to demonstrate these same values as they participate in meaningful, structured work experiences designed to prepare them for future employment and independent living. Through a structured recognition and incentive program, interns will be encouraged and rewarded every 2 months for consistently exhibiting these essential workplace attributes, practicing good attendance and punctuality, demonstrating growth, and following all school, program, and RP rules and expectations.
Interns will participate in monthly instruction focused on Royal Poinciana Golf Club's core workplace values through lessons, videos, discussions, role-playing activities, and real-world workplace application. Students will develop the professional behaviors and soft skills necessary for success in competitive employment. Each month, students will reflect on their learning by creating a presentation slide highlighting the featured core value, culminating in a year-end showcase of their growth and accomplishments.
To reinforce these skills, interns who consistently demonstrate positive workplace behaviors may be nominated for the Intern Recognition Program. Monthly honorees will receive recognition at a small celebration, a certificate, and L.I.F.E. Bucks that can be redeemed for rewards through the program's PBIS system for biannual shopping trips. By combining direct instruction, hands-on workplace experiences, and meaningful positive reinforcement, this project will increase students' confidence, self-advocacy, attendance, professionalism, and readiness for successful employment and independent living.
The benefits of the Intern Recognition Program help the interns learn an invaluable set of workplace principles that will help them obtain and maintain future employment. This incentive will increase student motivation, engagement, workplace attendance, and punctuality while reinforcing positive work habits and professional behaviors. The program will also help build self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment among our interns. Students are more likely to repeat exceptional workplace behaviors when they see those behaviors recognized and rewarded. Through this initiative, interns will develop stronger responsibility, accountability, teamwork, communication, and self-advocacy skills that are essential for long-term success in the workforce.
Success will be measured through improvements in worksite evaluations, increased attendance and participation, demonstration of the core workplace values, and positive feedback from supervisors and job coaches. By celebrating interns' growth and contributions, we foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and high expectations that prepares students for meaningful employment and independent living. The outcomes of this project will not only be reflected in measurable student growth but also in the pride, excitement, and smiles on our interns' faces as they receive their well-earned recognition.
Funding for this project will support the L.I.F.E. Program's monthly Intern Recognition Initiative, which celebrates students who consistently demonstrate Royal Poinciana Golf Club's core workplace values of integrity, teamwork, respect, accountability, trust, honesty, and stewardship. For five months, one outstanding intern will be recognized for modeling these values in the workplace and will receive $25 in L.I.F.E. Bucks, the program's positive behavior incentive currency. Students may redeem their earned Bucks for gift cards during biannual shopping trips, providing authentic opportunities to practice financial literacy, budgeting, goal-setting, and responsible decision-making.
An additional $25 per month will be used to provide refreshments for a small recognition celebration honoring the Intern of the Month. These celebrations create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters pride, motivation, and a sense of accomplishment while reinforcing the workplace behaviors that lead to success.
This funding will sustain a meaningful incentive and recognition system that encourages students to consistently apply professional skills learned through their community-based internships. By recognizing and rewarding excellence, the project promotes attendance, engagement, self-confidence, workplace readiness, and independence among young adults with special needs. The initiative aligns with Collier County Public Schools' commitment to career and life readiness by providing authentic opportunities for students with disabilities to develop the skills, habits, and confidence necessary for successful employment and productive adult lives. Through positive reinforcement and celebration of achievement, this project empowers L.I.F.E. students to reach their full potential and become valued members of the workforce and community.
My goal is to provide my students with a comfortable, flexible seating option that promotes focus, engagement, and student's growth while creating a special place to celebrate leadership. The beanbag chair will be available as an alternative setting option for students who benefit from movement and fleixble learning environments.
Students will use the beanbag chair as a flexible seating option during independent reading, small group instruction and classwork. They will have the opportunity to choose seating options that helps them feel comfortable, focused, and ready to learn. Each week, the beanbag will also become our "Leader's Seat" where our Leader of the Week can sit while being recognized for demonstrating kindness, responsibility, and positive leadership.
This project will give students greater choice and comfort in their learning environment, helping them stay focused, engaged, and motivated. Flexible seating can support students with different learning needs providing an alternative to traditional chairs. The "Leader's Seat" will also encourage positive behavior while celebrating students' success! This project will help create an inclusive classroom where students feel recognized, valued, and confident in their ability to succeed.

Hojalata! A Lotta Joy and Learning for Young Artists.
Hojalata is a traditional Mexican Folk art that is centuries old. It involves embossing metal sheets and adding bright color, to create a beautiful, shiny, colorful piece of art. The goal of this project is to give 4th and 5th grade students a joyful experience in connecting historical and global perspectives with art. Students will learn to identify art as part of culture. They will understand the significance of utilitarian objects in the community~ Hojalata is used for making picture frames, mirrors, sacred hearts, lanterns and ornaments in the Mexican culture. Another goal is to enhance students understanding of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design through experiencing the use of various interesting materials and tools.
Students will use a sequential process and follow procedures to achieve the artist goal of creating an original piece of tin art. Students will create a design on a 5" x 5" piece of paper. Using a pen as a stylus they will transfer Carve the design onto a 5" square piece of metal~this is an embossing technique called repousse. Students will then add color using sharpies enhancing the shiny metal.
The number one benefit is the pure pride and joy students feel when they admire their final product. They come to understand that beautiful things can result from patience and effort in following step by step procedures. This project is always successful for ALL students and each piece of art is unique ~ a true expression of individual creativity. Another benefit is that students get to use diverse resources and media to inspire expression and achieve varied results. Working with tin also enhances students enhances students scientific understanding of solids. students, first hand experience that the tin can be changed by adding pressure and color. They learn about texture and relief. A benefit for students and the world is that by exploring Hojalata students are introduced to the a rich Mexican heritage beyond the Social Studies textbook.

Strength in Motion: Building Stronger Bodies, Minds & Futures
The goal of Strength in Motion is to provide middle school students with an accessible, structured fitness program that develops strength, cardiovascular fitness, coordination, confidence, discipline, and healthy lifelong habits. Through weightlifting, cardio conditioning,
resistance-band exercises, jump-rope activities, and boxing-inspired fitness drills, students will learn that physical fitness is not simply about athletic performance—it is about personal growth, perseverance, goal-setting, and taking responsibility for their health.
The program is designed to provide meaningful fitness opportunities to students of all ability levels, including students who may not participate in traditional school athletics.
Students will participate in structured fitness sessions incorporating several complementary forms of exercise:
Strength training: Students will learn safe, age-appropriate techniques using free weights and resistance equipment, with an emphasis on proper form, controlled movement, and
progressive improvement.
Cardiovascular conditioning: Students will participate in jump-rope, bodyweight, and other cardio activities designed to improve endurance and overall fitness.
Resistance training: Elastic resistance bands will provide students with additional options for developing strength, including exercises that build toward pull-ups and other bodyweight movements.
Boxing-inspired fitness: A heavy bag will be used for supervised, non-contact conditioning drills that develop coordination, balance, cardiovascular endurance, focus, and stress-management skills.
Goal setting and progress: Students will establish personal fitness goals and track their progress over time, emphasizing individual improvement rather than competition with other
students.
Teamwork and character development: Activities will reinforceperseverance, self-discipline,
respect, responsibility, encouragement of peers, and the ability to work through challenges.
The program will be particularly valuable in a Title I middle-school setting where students have varying levels of access to organized sports, fitness facilities, and equipment outside of school.

Strength in Motion will provide students with practical fitness skills they can use throughout their lives. Students will benefit from improved strength, cardiovascular endurance, coordination, balance, and physical confidence while developing important non-physical
skills such as perseverance, self-discipline, goal-setting, and teamwork.
The program will also expand access to fitness opportunities for students who may not participate in traditional competitive athletics. By providing equipment that can be used by an entire class or student group, the grant will create a sustainable resource rather than a one-time activity.
The program will support an especially diverse student population, including English Language Learners and students from economically disadvantaged households. By bringing
quality fitness equipment and structured training directly into the school environment, Strength in Motion will help ensure that access to meaningful physical activity is not dependent upon a student's ability to purchase equipment, join a private gym, or participate in an organized sport outside of school.
Grant funding will be used to purchase durable, reusable fitness equipment that will allow students to participate in strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, resistance training, and boxing-inspired fitness activities.
The equipment will be used repeatedly throughout the school year and will support approximately 100–150 students annually. The requested items are intentionally selected to provide a variety of activities while maintaining a focus on safety, accessibility, and student participation.
The program will emphasize proper technique, age-appropriate resistance, instructor supervision, and individual progress. Equipment will become a lasting school resource that can support future classes and student cohorts.
The goal of this project is to create a positive, supportive, and motivating classroom environment for students with special needs by providing snacks and incentives through a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support system. Many students benefit from immediate and meaningful reinforcement for demonstrating positive behaviors such as completing assignments and following expectations.
Grant funding will allow our classroom to maintain a supply of snacks that can be used both to meet students' basic needs during the school day and as positive reinforcement within our classroom PBIS system. This project aims to increase student engagement, encourage appropriate classroom behavior, improve task completion, and help students develop greater independence and confidence at school.
The project will help create a classroom where students feel supported, motivated, and ready to learn while building positive behaviors that can carry over into other school and community settings.
Grand funds will be used to purchase individually packaged snacks and small PBIS incentives for students in special education classroom. The goal of this project is to provide students with disabilities, including students with Other Health Impairments OHI, and Specific Learning Disabilities SLD, with organizational tools and materials that will help them become more independent, responsible, and successful in their academic classes. Many of the students receiving special education services need additional support with executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, keeping track of their assignments, and preparing for upcoming deadlines. When students struggle in these areas, missing assignments and misplaced materials can quickly impact their academic progress and confidence.
Grant funding will be used to create individualized organization systems for students using materials such as academic planners, color-coordinated folders and files, pencil cases, organizational supplies, and other learning materials. Color-coding and clearly organized materials will allow students to easily identify resources for each class, keep track of completed and missing work, and plan for upcoming assignments, tests, and projects.
These materials will be incorporated into students' special education support services, where they receive additional assistance with their coursework, grades, assignments, and individual learning needs. Students will be explicitly taught how to use their organizational systems rather than simply being provided with supplies.
The overall goal and purpose of funding this grant is to help students stay ahead of their assignments, improve work completion, reduce missing or late work, strengthen executive functioning skills, and take greater ownership of their education.

For the third year in a row, I will be sponsoring a Kindness Fair at our elementary school to celebrate World Kindness Day. The goal of the project is to promote and inspire kindness among all students in Kindergarten through 5th grade and encourage them to make kindness an intentional part of their everyday actions and interactions.
The Kindness Fair will include multiple learning stations that students in grades K-5 visit to learn how to spread kindness in a variety of ways. The stations each have a theme related to subject areas and life skills including reading, science, health, and the arts. These activities are prepared and presented by students from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) who are completing a course on service-learning. The fair takes place for two full school days, so all classes are able to rotate through and participate. With grant funds, I would like to purchase brag tags for all students who attend that reflect the theme of the fair as well as a checklist of kind behaviors as a daily reminder of how to spread kindness. Students already receive brag tags for achieving reading goals at school so this special brag tag can be added to their special collection and will be a visible reminder of how to be kind every day. In addition, I'd like to purchase rubber bracelets printed with the title of the theme of the fair: Leading the Wave of Kindness. This is in direct correlation with our school theme for the 2026-2027 school year: Leading the Wave of Success. All students and staff members who attend would receive a bracelet as a reminder to spread kindness in the ways shared during the fair.
Spreading and teaching messages of kindness and encouraging students to do the same has a variety of benefits. The purpose of the fair is to learn about kindness, practice the behaviors, and remember to use kindness in the future. Students are often told to “be kind,” but the fair will give them concrete examples of what kindness actually looks like including helping, including others, encouraging someone, showing empathy, and making positive choices. By gifting students a brag tag and bracelet, it gives the opportunity to have a reminder to practice kindness daily instead of simply talking about it. This helps move kindness from an idea to action. In addition, including the entire school in the fair and gifting students with the kindness message take home tokens makes kindness become something the school community values collectively. Students begin to see that kindness is not just an individual choice but also a part of who we are as a school. Finally, and of utmost importance, this project encourages leadership and promotes the Leader in Me Seven Habits of Happy Kids that we focus on as a school every day. Students will learn that they don't have to be adults to make a difference. Simple acts of kindness allow our students to see themselves as leaders who can positively influence others.
The funds requested would be used for purchasing a rubber bracelet for each student and staff member that attends the Kindness fair, a brag tag and goody bag with handles for each student who attends (the goody bag will serve to collect items during the fair), and a small funding stipend for the college student groups to purchase student prizes and materials for the elementary students to use at the stations which will enhance the station activities compared to previous years.
To provide students with the materials needed to participate in meaningful, hands-on Project-Based Learning (PBL) experiences that transform classroom knowledge into tangible products, presentations, and solutions. The goal is to increase student engagement while strengthening academic knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Throughout the school year, students will participate in individual and collaborative projects connected directly to Social Studies and Career & Technical Education standards. Students will research topics, develop ideas, solve problems, create products, and present their work to classmates and authentic audiences.
Projects may include historical timelines and exhibits, geographic displays, infographics, career exploration projects, entrepreneurship activities, financial literacy projects, business concepts, public-awareness campaigns, and other standards-based demonstrations of learning.
Students will use materials such as poster board, cardstock, markers, colored pencils, construction paper, presentation materials, and other basic supplies to turn their research and ideas into finished products.
This approach is supported by a growing body of research. A meta-analysis of 30 studies involving more than 12,500 students found that Project-Based Learning had a medium-to-large positive effect on academic achievement, with stronger effects reported in social science subjects. A 2023 meta-analysis of 66 experimental and quasi-experimental studies also found positive effects on academic achievement, learning outcomes, attitudes, and thinking skills. Research has also found positive PBL outcomes for students in high-poverty settings, including gains in Social Studies and informational reading.
Project-Based Learning gives students an opportunity to move beyond simply recalling information and instead apply what they have learned. Students must research, evaluate information, make decisions, communicate ideas, work with others, and create something that demonstrates their understanding.
The materials funded by this grant will allow students to participate in authentic, hands-on learning regardless of their ability to purchase supplies themselves. This is especially important when projects require students to work collaboratively and produce professional-quality presentations.
The project will support both academic achievement and the development of skills students will need in high school, college, careers, and everyday life—including communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving.
Funding will provide a shared classroom supply of consumable materials used throughout the school year for Project-Based Learning activities. Rather than purchasing supplies for a single project, the requested materials will support multiple projects and multiple groups of students across Social Studies and CTE courses.
The requested materials include poster board and presentation boards, markers, colored pencils, cardstock and construction paper, adhesives, scissors, index cards, display materials, and other basic project supplies. These materials will allow students to create visual presentations, models, timelines, infographics, research displays, business concepts, and other demonstrations of learning.
The relatively modest investment will provide students with repeated opportunities throughout the year to research, create, collaborate, and demonstrate what they know.

Students will develop their voices, recognize their strengths, practice positive self-expression, work collaboratively, and build practical skills that support success in school, future careers, and everyday life.
Students will participate in weekly Spirited Voices activities throughout the school year focused on confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, self-expression, and future readiness. Activities will include guided discussions, journaling, goal-setting, creative projects, public speaking, podcast-style interviews and recordings, career exploration, leadership challenges, team-building activities, and student presentations.
Students will have opportunities to discuss topics that matter to them, interview peers and community guests, create positive messages and projects, explore careers, practice speaking and listening skills, and reflect on their personal and academic goals. Grant-funded materials will allow students to move beyond worksheets and participate in meaningful hands-on experiences that encourage engagement, creativity, collaboration, and student voice.
Students will benefit from increased confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, teamwork, and career-readiness skills. Through hands-on activities such as journaling, podcasting, group discussions, creative projects, presentations, and career exploration, girls will have opportunities to express themselves, discover their strengths, and practice using their voices in positive ways. These experiences will encourage greater student engagement, strengthen social and communication skills, and help students develop practical skills they can use in school, future employment, and everyday life. The reusable materials purchased through this grant will also allow these learning opportunities to continue throughout the school year and benefit future students.
Grant funds will support the implementation of Spirited Voices, an ongoing student enrichment program focused on confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, self-expression, and career readiness. Funding will provide podcast and recording equipment, headphones, student journals, creative writing and art supplies, presentation materials, leadership and team-building resources, career-exploration materials, and reusable supplies for student projects.
Students will use these resources throughout the school year to participate in podcast-style interviews and discussions, journaling and goal-setting, creative self-expression projects, leadership activities, career exploration, collaborative projects, and student presentations. These hands-on experiences will give students opportunities to develop their voices while practicing communication, teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and future-readiness skills.

My goal with this project is to use two online programs; Way Ground during class and GIMKIT for warm-ups/homework to give supportive practice for all differentiated students in the classroom and at home. These programs are based on the grade level Florida Benchmarks so that mastery can be done for the upcoming state assessments in a unique way instead of the same old boring worksheet. I want math to be exciting and engaging for my students so that not only will they stay on task but that they can build confidence in their academic abilities and be successful.
Way Ground and GIMKIT both provide a variety of ways to master the 7th grade Math curriculum from basic number sense and computation skills to advanced mathematical reasoning ensuring that all students receive appropriate levels of challenges to achieve competency and fluency in mathematical thinking. Both programs have a monitoring tool for teachers to track if their students are struggling or mastering an assigned benchmark thus allowing that teacher to adjust instruction accordingly. Through interactive lessons, presentations, videos, flashcards and quizzes, Way Ground will be used during classroom instruction and practice. GIMKIT will be their online resource for homework/warm-ups. This extension to Way Ground puts their curriculum content in high interest visibility games with support to help them practice independently, keep them engaged, and give students the flexibility to complete it anywhere and on any device. This is beneficial to all my students and particularly those whose parents are divorced and have to bounce between houses on weekends and students who have sports trips or out of school due to illness.
Through this project, students will have the opportunity to build their Math knowledge of the Florida state tested benchmarks through visuals, hands-on learning, peer grouping, modeling, and mastery. The differentiated activities is a tool to motivate all students to complete tasks and learn. It makes a significant difference for that student who needs guidance through their native language or requires an IEP accommodation for extra support when completing tasks. It is also a way for the student to complete a grade level assignment with their peers without feeling akward about their needed accommodation.

The purpose of this project is to provide reliable charging cords for new student computers so that all learners have consistent access to technology during the school day. This addresses the need for dependable devices, since many students struggle to keep their computers charged at home or during class, which disrupts learning. By ensuring that every student has a working cord, the project supports uninterrupted access to digital tools and resources. The academic goal of the project is to strengthen students’ ability to fully participate in technology-based learning, which includes research, collaboration, and skill development across all subject areas.
The project will provide classrooms with a set of replacement charging cords for student computers. These cords will remain available in the classroom for students who arrive with uncharged devices or who misplace their original cords. Teachers will organize the cords in a central, easy-to-access location, and students will be taught responsible use and return routines. By ensuring that technology remains available, the project directly supports daily classroom activities such as digital assignments, online assessments, and interactive learning experiences.
Students will experience fewer interruptions in their learning due to technology issues, leading to more consistent engagement with lessons and digital resources. Teachers will be able to plan and deliver instruction with confidence that devices are charged and ready. Improvements will be measured informally through teacher observation, noting reduced downtime caused by uncharged devices, as well as student feedback about their ability to stay on task. These chargers are necessary to maintain reliable operation of computers and ensure staff have the equipment needed to perform daily duties. We are requesting funding to provide T-shirts for both teachers and students for our annual CCPS Elementary Honors Choir event. The T-shirts will help create a sense of cohesiveness, uniformity and professional appearance while promoting the event and increasing community awareness of the music programs in our county.
This project is submitted by all elementary music teachers in the district and aims to fund t-shirts for students and teachers. Students will work on their repertoire with their music teacher for several months to prepare for the event. Various students from each elementary school are picked through an audition process. Then, all selected students meet at a facility (normally a CCPS high school) and have an all-day rehearsal with a professional clinician from another institution outside of our county. The students will then have a formal concert/presentation for parents and community members.
The t-shirts will empower a sense of uniformity, teamwork and cohesiveness as the students perform in the finale concert of the event. This also serves as a great initiative for students to continue growing in perseverance and perusing musical opportunities in both middle school and high school.
The budget expressed under the "grant total cost" will solely cover the price for each student to have access to a T-shirt in its entirety. It has been decided to be this way to provide to all students, and to not put any financial pressure on both students and their respective schools who may be undergoing financial constraints.
The vendor will be charging $5 per t-shirt and printing, which for 280 shirts, will be $1400. The reminder $84 will be used if taxes are collected from the t-shirts.

Overall Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to provide students with hands-on experience deploying hardware-accelerated computer vision and real-time machine learning models at the physical edge using industrial-standard NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
Need Addressed:
Modern supply chain logistics, smart warehousing, and advanced manufacturing increasingly rely on autonomous visual inspection and edge-based intelligence. While students currently master networking, Linux administration, and foundational microcomputing, they require exposure to dedicated neural processing units (NPUs/GPUs) capable of processing real-time object detection, defect recognition, and automated routing pipelines locally.
This project aligns to FL DOE's Computer Systems & Information Technology framework (Program Y100200, CIP 0511090107), specifically Occupational Completion Point A, Computer Systems Technician (CTS0082, 300 hours), which requires students to demonstrate proficiency with computer hardware, troubleshooting, and underlying principles of technology. Deploying and benchmarking vision models on Jetson edge hardware extends this OCP's hardware-proficiency standard into applied edge-AI and computer vision — an emerging-technology skill set not yet codified in the current framework but directly requested by regional logistics and agribusiness employers.

A Campus-Wide Catalyst for Cross-Industry Collaboration:
While housed in our IT and Advanced Technical programs, the AI Innovation Lab is designed as an interdisciplinary, campus-wide initiative. Modern automation does not exist in an IT silo; it touches every field our college trains for:
Manufacturing: Students connect our Amitrol Skill Boss trainer sorting system with intelligent cameras to learn automated package handling and inventory flow.
Agriculture & Environmental Tech: Learners explore how to support local farms in the tech they are already using for instance: using computer vision to spot crop distress, sort produce, and conserve water.
Accounting, Business Operations & Inventory Control: Modern enterprises no longer track assets with clipboards or manual spreadsheets. By pairing vision models with real-time tracking, students bridge IT and accounting—learning how automated edge systems log physical inventory into digital ledgers, calculate real-time cost-of-goods, track depreciation, and flag stock discrepancies instantly to prevent financial loss.
Students across different certificate programs will collaborate in our lab, discovering how disparate industries interconnect and solving complex problems together just like cross-functional teams in the professional workforce.
Success will be measured through: (1) a completed end-to-end vision pipeline (trained model + live camera deployment) per team, scored against a rubric for detection accuracy and integration with the sortation system; (2) benchmarked performance metrics — frame rate, inference latency, and power draw — logged across model quantization settings (INT8/FP16) to demonstrate measurable optimization gains; (3) a final demonstration in which teams present a working automated quality-check station to peers and instructors; and (4) a portfolio artifact (code, benchmark data, and demo video) each student can use in technical job interviews.
The requested funds will acquire the core physical compute and optical infrastructure needed to establish the iTECH AI Innovation Lab at Immokalee Technical College. While foundational networking and microcomputing are taught in our classrooms, our adult learners currently lack access to dedicated Edge AI hardware with hardware-accelerated tensor cores.
Funding will directly provide student workstations with NVIDIA Jetson edge compute units, high-speed camera sensors, fast solid-state storage, and safe bench-mounting breakout equipment. Rather than relying on cloud simulations—which carry recurring subscription costs and hide the physical realities of edge networking—these one-time grant funds place real, industry-standard embedded computing hardware directly into students' hands.
Industrial M.2 NVMe SSD (512GB High-Endurance) – $55: This drive provides dedicated, high-endurance local storage for the Jetson Orin Nano edge workstation, which will continuously read and write large volumes of vehicle telemetry, video feed data, and trained model checkpoints throughout repeated student lab sessions. A high-endurance industrial-grade SSD is required (rather than a standard consumer drive) because the constant read/write cycles from real-time inference logging and iterative model training would quickly degrade standard storage, risking data loss and downtime during instructional use.
The three Jetson units requested here are dedicated exclusively to powering the camera-based computer vision pipeline and integrating with our existing Logistics Skill Boss sortation system and autonomous rovers, distinct from the edge-compute hardware requested in our companion DeepRacer and sensor-audit proposals.

Business Academy “CERTIFIED” Student Recognition Initiative
The project will recognize students who successfully earn industry certifications while increasing awareness of Career and Technical Education opportunities at Golden Gate High School.
The initiative is designed to:
*Celebrate students for earning industry-recognized credentials.
*Increase student motivation to prepare for and successfully complete certification exams.
*Build pride and a stronger sense of identity within the GGHS Business Academy.
*Increase visibility of CTE programs and industry certification opportunities across the school.
*Reinforce the connection between classroom learning and future college and career opportunities.
The “CERTIFIED” T-shirts will be awarded to GGHS Business Academy students who successfully earn an industry-recognized certification through their Career and Technical Education coursework. The shirts will serve as a visible celebration of student achievement and career readiness.
Students will be encouraged to wear their shirts during designated “Certified Days,” CTE events, Business Academy activities, and other school celebrations. Wearing the shirts throughout campus will recognize students who have achieved certification while also promoting awareness of CTE programs and encouraging other students to work toward earning their own industry credentials.
Approximately 250 shirts will be purchased and distributed only to students who successfully earn a qualifying certification, making each shirt a symbol of an achievement that was earned rather than simply a promotional item.
The “CERTIFIED” T-shirt program will provide students with visible recognition for earning an industry-recognized credential through a Career and Technical Education course. Receiving a shirt gives students a tangible reward for the time, preparation, and effort required to successfully complete a certification exam.
The program will also help build pride and a sense of belonging within the GGHS Business Academy. Students wearing their shirts on campus will showcase career-focused achievement and demonstrate to their peers that industry certification is both attainable and worth pursuing.
The shirts will also increase awareness of CTE programs and help create a culture where career readiness is publicly recognized and celebrated. For approximately $7 per student, the program provides lasting recognition while encouraging other students to pursue certifications that can strengthen their resumes, support future employment opportunities, and prepare them for continued education and career pathways.
Grant funding of $1,750 will be used to purchase approximately 250 custom “CERTIFIED” T-shirts at an estimated cost of $7 per shirt. Funds will cover the production and printing of shirts in a range of student sizes for distribution throughout the school year as certifications are earned.
This funding allows the GGHS Business Academy to establish a consistent recognition program for the success and achievement of its students. Shirts will be maintained by the Business Academy and awarded upon verification that a student has successfully earned an eligible industry certification. The goal of this project is to expand my fourth-grade classroom library by purchasing a collection of age-appropriate classic novels that will introduce students to a wide array of genres, authors, characters, settings, and perspectives. This request will help to build a stronger collection of high-quality literature that students can access throughout the school year. Incidentally, the titles being sought are those that have been placed on a curated list by the Florida Department of Education’s reading list to support the mastery of Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards for fourth grade.
These specific titles include a wide range of options that align with our reading, writing and comprehension benchmarks.
Additionally, at the fourth-grade level, students are developing greater independence as readers and beginning to discover the types of books and genres that capture their interests. Providing a variety of classic novels will encourage my students to explore beyond familiar reading choices while developing a lasting appreciation for literature.
These new books will become part of our classroom library and will be available for both independent reading and teacher-guided instruction. Students will have opportunities to select books based on their individual interests and reading levels while exploring genres such as adventure, mystery, historical fiction, fantasy, humor, and realistic fiction.
Selected novels will also be incorporated into classroom read-alouds, literature discussions, reading responses, and small-group activities. Students will have opportunities to compare characters, settings, themes, conflicts, and writing styles across different books. This project will provide students with increased access to engaging, high-quality literature and help foster a lifelong love of reading. Because excerpts from these titles are frequently used on state-assessments, students will be equipped with critical background knowledge and quality experiences with suggested titles. A diverse collection of classic novels will:
• Increase students' exposure to a variety of genres, authors, writing styles, and perspectives.
• Strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and critical-thinking skills.
• Provide opportunities for students to discuss literature and learn from one another.
• Build background knowledge and introduce students to stories that have remained meaningful across generations.
• Give students greater choice and ownership in their reading.
Most importantly, this project will help create a classroom where books are readily accessible and reading is viewed as an enjoyable and meaningful experience. By placing a broad selection of classic literature within students' reach, I hope to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love of reading.
