The goal of Spirited Voices is to provide girls with engaging, hands-on opportunities to strengthen confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, and career-readiness skills. Students will develop their voices, recognize their strengths, practice positive self-expression, work collaboratively, and build practical skills that support success in school, future careers, and everyday life.
Students will participate in weekly Spirited Voices activities throughout the school year focused on confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, self-expression, and future readiness. Activities will include guided discussions, journaling, goal-setting, creative projects, public speaking, podcast-style interviews and recordings, career exploration, leadership challenges, team-building activities, and student presentations.
Students will have opportunities to discuss topics that matter to them, interview peers and community guests, create positive messages and projects, explore careers, practice speaking and listening skills, and reflect on their personal and academic goals. Grant-funded materials will allow students to move beyond worksheets and participate in meaningful hands-on experiences that encourage engagement, creativity, collaboration, and student voice.
Students will benefit from increased confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, teamwork, and career-readiness skills. Through hands-on activities such as journaling, podcasting, group discussions, creative projects, presentations, and career exploration, girls will have opportunities to express themselves, discover their strengths, and practice using their voices in positive ways. These experiences will encourage greater student engagement, strengthen social and communication skills, and help students develop practical skills they can use in school, future employment, and everyday life. The reusable materials purchased through this grant will also allow these learning opportunities to continue throughout the school year and benefit future students.
Grant funds will support the implementation of Spirited Voices, an ongoing student enrichment program focused on confidence, communication, leadership, creativity, self-expression, and career readiness. Funding will provide podcast and recording equipment, headphones, student journals, creative writing and art supplies, presentation materials, leadership and team-building resources, career-exploration materials, and reusable supplies for student projects.
Students will use these resources throughout the school year to participate in podcast-style interviews and discussions, journaling and goal-setting, creative self-expression projects, leadership activities, career exploration, collaborative projects, and student presentations. These hands-on experiences will give students opportunities to develop their voices while practicing communication, teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and future-readiness skills.
Many of the materials, particularly the recording equipment, headphones, and reusable project supplies, will continue to benefit future groups of students beyond the initial grant period.
