The goal of Building Character, One Layer at a Time is to transform our media center into a space where students can bring their ideas to life. It will provide hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance.
Students will be able to design and print models connected to classroom lessons in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, reading, and social studies, helping them deepen their understanding through real-world application.
In addition, the 3D printer filament will support our positive behavior initiatives by allowing students to earn opportunities to create and print projects as recognition for demonstrating responsibility, kindness, collaboration, and other positive character traits. This connection between positive behavior and creative expression will motivate students while building confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
By giving students access to 3D printer filament for our 3D printer, we are not only teaching technical and design skills but also empowering them to become creators, innovators, and lifelong learners. The ability to see an idea move from imagination to a tangible object is a powerful experience that inspires engagement, ownership of learning, and pride in their achievements.
