We are requesting funding to provide T-shirts for both teachers and students for our annual CCPS Elementary Honors Choir event. The T-shirts will help create a sense of cohesiveness, uniformity and professional appearance while promoting the event and increasing community awareness of the music programs in our county.
This project is submitted by all elementary music teachers in the district and aims to fund t-shirts for students and teachers. Students will work on their repertoire with their music teacher for several months to prepare for the event. Various students from each elementary school are picked through an audition process. Then, all selected students meet at a facility (normally a CCPS high school) and have an all-day rehearsal with a professional clinician from another institution outside of our county. The students will then have a formal concert/presentation for parents and community members.
The t-shirts will empower a sense of uniformity, teamwork and cohesiveness as the students perform in the finale concert of the event. This also serves as a great initiative for students to continue growing in perseverance and perusing musical opportunities in both middle school and high school.
The budget expressed under the "grant total cost" will solely cover the price for each student to have access to a T-shirt in its entirety. It has been decided to be this way to provide to all students, and to not put any financial pressure on both students and their respective schools who may be undergoing financial constraints.
The vendor will be charging $5 per t-shirt and printing, which for 280 shirts, will be $1400. The reminder $84 will be used if taxes are collected from the t-shirts.
