The goal of this project is to create a positive, supportive, and motivating classroom environment for students with special needs by providing snacks and incentives through a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support system. Many students benefit from immediate and meaningful reinforcement for demonstrating positive behaviors such as completing assignments and following expectations.
Grant funding will allow our classroom to maintain a supply of snacks that can be used both to meet students' basic needs during the school day and as positive reinforcement within our classroom PBIS system. This project aims to increase student engagement, encourage appropriate classroom behavior, improve task completion, and help students develop greater independence and confidence at school.
The project will help create a classroom where students feel supported, motivated, and ready to learn while building positive behaviors that can carry over into other school and community settings.
Grand funds will be used to purchase individually packaged snacks and small PBIS incentives for students in special education classroom. Funding will support items such as granola bars, crackers, fruit snacks, and other classroom appropriate snacks. These items will be distributed to students as needed and incorporated into the classroom's PBIS system.
