This project will provide 5th grade students with the opportunity to explore sublimation technology by creating personalized luggage tags. As students learn about different technologies used in the world around them, sublimation offers a hands-on and engaging way to understand how heat transfer printing works. By using luggage tag sublimation blanks, students will not only explore design and production but also connect how this technology is applied in real-world industries such as manufacturing, personalization, and global commerce.
Students will begin with an introduction to sublimation printing, exploring the science behind heat transfer and the types of products that use this process. Each student will design a luggage tag using computer-based graphic design software. The designs will then be printed and heat pressed onto sublimation blanks, creating a finished, durable luggage tag. Students will reflect on their learning by sharing how sublimation connects to industries and everyday products.

The purpose of this funding is to provide sublimation luggage tag blanks for 5th grade students as part of a hands-on project exploring different technologies in the world. These supplies will allow students to design, print, and create their own personalized luggage tags while learning about the science of sublimation, digital design, and real-world applications of technology. Funding will ensure that each student has the materials needed to actively participate, create a finished product, and make meaningful connections between classroom learning and technology used in industry today. The funding also includes specialized sublimation paper and ink needed for the project. The luggage tags are $89.97, the paper iis 19.99 and the ink is $26.99.
