The goal of this project is to increase student motivation, academic effort, and positive behavior among 5th grade students by establishing a classroom incentive store where students can purchase prizes using points earned for hard work, good behavior, responsibility, and positive citizenship.
This grant will provide funding for a variety of age-appropriate prizes and rewards that students can purchase with Class Dojo points earned throughout the school year. A sample of what students will earn points for includes:
Demonstrating good behavior
Participating in class
Showing leadership and teamwork
Exhibiting respect and responsibility
Improving academic performance
The program is designed to reinforce positive choices and encourage students to develop habits that support academic success.
Benefits include
* Increased motivation to participate and work hard
* Improved behavior which minimized disruptions and promotes respectful classroom conduct
* Better academic performance due to enhanced class discussions
* Foster a supportive environment where student success and efforts are celebrated
The requested funds will be used exclusively to purchase incentives that were favorites last year and need to be replenished. The purpose is to provide a meaningful system of positive reinforcement that encourages students to demonstrate strong academic effort and exemplary behavior.
