School Name: Estates Elementary
Grant Request Grade: K-5
Grant Request Subject: Special Needs Students

Additional Details

The goal of this project is to create an engaging, communication-rich speech-language therapy environment by providing hands-on materials and evidence-based resources that support students with speech and language disorders. These resources will increase student participation, motivation, and opportunities for individualized practice while targeting articulation, language, social communication, and early literacy skills. By equipping the speech room with interactive materials, students will build stronger communication skills, greater confidence, and the ability to participate more successfully in the classroom and everyday interactions.
Students will use these materials during individual and small-group speech-language therapy sessions throughout the school year. Activities will be selected based on each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and will target skills such as articulation, expressive and receptive language, vocabulary, grammar, social communication, phonological awareness, and early literacy. Through hands-on games, visual supports, manipulatives, and interactive learning activities, students will have increased opportunities to practice communication skills in meaningful and engaging ways. These resources will allow therapy sessions to be tailored to students' individual needs while encouraging participation, confidence, and carryover of skills into the classroom and everyday interactions. The materials will be used across multiple grade levels and will benefit a wide range of students with communication disorders throughout the school year.
This project will provide students with engaging, evidence-based materials that support the development of essential communication skills needed for academic achievement and social success. By increasing student engagement and providing opportunities for individualized, hands-on practice, these resources will help improve speech production, language comprehension and expression, social communication, and confidence. The materials will be used with students across multiple grade levels and will continue to benefit future students for years to come, maximizing the long-term impact of the grant while creating a more effective and inclusive speech-language therapy environment.
Grant funds will be used to purchase speech-language therapy materials, educational games, visual supports, manipulatives, books, and other evidence-based resources that align with students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. These materials will be used repeatedly throughout the school year during individual and small-group therapy sessions and will support students across multiple grade levels and communication needs.
