My goal with this project is to create a class set of math tool boxes that contains the materials students need to succeed in 6th grade math.
Students would come in and grabbed their assigned number math tool kit. In the kit they will have a whiteboard, dry-erase marker, highlighter, eraser, math binder of mats, and any manipulatives they may need to help them access the lessons.
Students will have access to manipulatives that can help them understand the lessons. This kit will slowly get built over the year to help students see that they are learning and its a visual model to show that they are building a math foundation in their brain. This will also help transition into math class go smoother as they just have to grab their numbers tool kit and get ready.
I will use this funding to buy sterilite containers for the tool box, paper for the math mats, binders, and manipulatives.
