Our 6th- 8th graders are very motivated and engaged students. Many of them have extracurricular activities or sports outside of Oakridge Middle School that occupy a lot of their time. Our primary goal for this year’s Winter Fest is to redefine middle school campus life by giving our 6th- 8th graders compelling, high-energy reasons to show up, plug in, and lead at Winter Fest!
By integrating fun challenges like dunk your administrator, cheer on a teacher in an inflatable race, and
student live performances, we are transforming a standard fundraiser into a high-energy community event. This event connects classroom communities across the county—from Vineyards Elementary School to Laurel Oak Elementary School—by giving our middle schoolers a sense of ownership and active engagement right on their own campus.
Your support helps us to deliver an experience tailored to both elementary and middle school energy and curiosity, building lasting peer connections and demonstrating that school is a place where they belong, lead, and thrive.
National Honor Society (NHS) Students
The NHS students will serve as event volunteers and leaders. They will fulfill their community service requirements by running the logistics for the younger children. This includes setting up and managing the glow room, life size checkers and connect four, organizing the music and structure for the cake walk, distributing fun prizes, and ensuring the elementary schoolers have a safe, welcoming, and organized experience.
The older students have their own high-energy entertainment area. They will have the chance to dunk their administrators and watch their teachers run incognito around the track in an inflatable costume. This gives them an age-appropriate way to participate in the school community spirit and burn off energy!
Every dollar raised during the Winter Fest directly reinvests in our students and teachers, creating sustainable, long-term impact well after the event concludes. We use these funds to buy supplies for teachers, which ultimately directly impact students in the classroom.
This event offers a powerful, multi-generational experience that strengthens the entire school community while building real-world skills. By providing hands-on business practice for entrepreneurship students, meaningful leadership and service opportunities for National Honor Society volunteers, and age-appropriate, engaging recreation for both elementary and older students, the event fosters an inclusive environment of collaboration and school spirit. It bridges the gap between different age groups, allowing older students to mentor and entertain the younger ones, while creating a memorable, high-energy day that celebrates student creativity, responsibility, and fun.
