The goal of this project is to provide Kindergarten through 5th grade students with hands-on opportunities to explore creativity, problem-solving, engineering, and technology skills by using a 3D printer to turn their ideas and digital designs into real-world creations.
Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will use the 3D printer to engage in hands-on STEM and technology activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, design thinking, and collaboration. Students will learn to brainstorm ideas, create and modify digital designs, and bring their creations to life through 3D printing. Projects will be age-appropriate and connected to classroom learning, giving students opportunities to explore engineering concepts, learn from mistakes, and develop confidence as they design, create, and innovate.
The benefits of this project include developing students’ creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and digital design skills while providing hands-on STEM learning experiences. Students will gain experience turning ideas into real-world creations, learning through trial and error, and building confidence as they explore engineering and technology. The 3D printer will also help make learning more engaging, meaningful, and accessible for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Funding of $539 will be used to purchase a Bambu Lab P1S 3D printer for the technology classroom. This printer will provide Kindergarten through 5th grade students with hands-on opportunities to explore STEM, engineering, digital design, creativity, and problem-solving. Students will use the printer to turn their digital designs and ideas into physical, real-world creations while developing valuable technology and critical-thinking skills. The 3D printer will be a long-term classroom resource that can be used across multiple grade levels and projects throughout the school year.
