The goal of this grant is to provide students with hands-on sculpture experiences using a variety of three-dimensional art materials. Funding will allow students to explore building, modeling, designing, and problem-solving through sculpture while developing creativity, fine motor skills, and spatial awareness. By providing a range of safe and engaging materials, students will have opportunities to experiment with different sculptural techniques and create meaningful works of art.
This grant will support the purchase of a variety of sculpture materials for elementary art students. Students will explore three-dimensional art through materials such as air-dry clay, modeling dough, Magic Model Clay, papier-mâché paste, cardboard, cardboard circles, wooden skewers, and other sculpture-building supplies.
The grant will also provide child-friendly cardboard cutters and low-temperature glue guns, allowing students to safely participate in the construction process while building independence and confidence in their artistic abilities.
These materials will be used throughout the school year in sculpture units that encourage students to design, build, construct, and problem-solve. Students will learn how artists use different materials and techniques to create three-dimensional works of art while applying the elements and principles of design.
This grant will provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that support creativity and artistic growth. Sculpture projects encourage students to think critically, experiment with materials, and solve problems while transforming ideas into three-dimensional forms.
Students will strengthen fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, planning, perseverance, and collaboration while working with a variety of media. Access to diverse sculpture materials will allow students to engage in meaningful artistic exploration and experience forms of art-making that are not always possible with traditional drawing and painting materials.
The addition of safe tools, such as child-friendly cardboard cutters and cool-temperature glue guns, will increase student independence while maintaining a safe learning environment. Ultimately, this grant will expand creative opportunities for all students and enrich the visual arts curriculum through engaging, hands-on sculpture experiences.
Funding will be used to purchase sculpture materials and tools, including air-dry clay, modeling dough, Magic Model Clay, papier-mâché paste, cardboard construction materials, cardboard circles, wooden skewers, child-safe cardboard cutters, low-temperature glue guns, glue sticks, and related supplies.
These materials will support sculpture lessons across multiple grade levels throughout the school year. The supplies will be used by hundreds of students and will provide long-lasting resources that enhance hands-on learning, creativity, and three-dimensional art instruction in the elementary art classroom.
