The goal of this project is to create a schoolwide Glow Room that transforms student achievement into an exciting, memorable experience. The space will provide a dedicated environment where students can celebrate academic growth, perseverance, reading accomplishments, classroom goals, and other milestones while reinforcing the message that effort, growth, and learning are worth celebrating.
Students will visit the Glow Room as a class or small group to celebrate meaningful accomplishments and milestones throughout the school year. Teachers will use the space for reading celebrations, academic goal celebrations, end-of-unit achievements, and classroom incentives. Students may participate in glow-themed games, collaborative activities, creative projects, and movement-based celebrations designed to build connection and excitement around learning. The room will be a flexible resource that can be used across grade levels and subject areas.
The Glow Room will help create a positive school culture where students recognize their own growth and celebrate the accomplishments of others. For students, these experiences provide motivation, build confidence, and strengthen their sense of belonging and connection to school. Teachers will have an engaging, ready-to-use space for recognizing student effort and achievement. Most importantly, the project shifts the focus from simply rewarding high performance to celebrating growth, perseverance, progress, and a love of learning, ensuring that every student has an opportunity to shine.
Funding will be used to transform a full-size classroom into a reusable, schoolwide Glow Room. Funds will provide UV blacklights, blackout materials, fluorescent and neon decorations, glow-in-the-dark supplies, and interactive games. These durable resources will be used throughout the school year by students across grade levels for a variety of academic and schoolwide celebrations. The investment will create a long-lasting resource that can serve hundreds of students year after year while providing teachers with meaningful new ways to celebrate student growth and achievement.
