Additional Details
My goal is to provide an opportunity for my students to have access to chosen Sunshine State Young Readers books. This will help foster a love of independent reading with my 4th grade students.
To inspire curiosity and a love for reading, my students will take on the exciting challenge of reading all 15 Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) books. As they journey “diving deep into reading” one book at a time, they join a school-wide reading adventure designed to boost engagement across the intermediate grades. Along the way, students will spin the wheel for the opportunity to win a fun prize to celebrate their progress and keep them motivated. This wonder-filled reading experience will turn our classroom into a Wonderland of imagination, growth, and literary discovery.
My young readers will have the opportunity to begin their journey “down the rabbit hole” by exploring all of the Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) books recommended for grades 3-5. This engaging introduction to the SSYRA program will grow their curiosity and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of reading. By participating in this wonder-filled challenge early on, students will be better prepared—and more excited—to continue this reading tradition year after year.
My budget will allow me to buy all 15 SSYRA books for my students to access in the classroom and prizes for my classroom challenge.
