Additional Details

The goal of this project is to increase student engagement, participation, and academic achievement by expanding access to interactive, game-based learning tools in the classroom. Funding will provide premium access to Gimkit, Quizlet Live, Blooket, Zipgrade, and Wayground, allowing students to participate in a variety of collaborative and independent learning experiences designed to reinforce key concepts, practice academic vocabulary, review content, and receive immediate feedback. Ultimately, this project aims to create a more engaging, responsive, and student-centered classroom where technology is used purposefully to increase motivation, strengthen content mastery, and support student success.
By incorporating multiple interactive platforms, I can provide students with varied opportunities to practice and demonstrate their understanding while responding to different learning needs and levels of readiness. These tools will help transform review and formative assessment into engaging, low-risk experiences that encourage participation from all students while providing me with real-time data to identify misconceptions and adjust instruction.
Immokalee High School is home to a large population of English Language Learners, and each of these technologies provides a variety of accommodations and learning supports while maintaining academic rigor. These tools can help reduce language barriers, provide repeated exposure to academic vocabulary and content, and give students multiple ways to practice and demonstrate understanding. The benefits extend beyond ELL students. Students with learning disabilities, students who need additional review, and even students who simply benefit from a different approach to a concept can receive targeted support. Because each platform offers a different style of delivery, interaction, and accommodation, using a variety of tools throughout the year also helps prevent engagement fatigue. Students can encounter the same rigorous content in new and engaging ways, allowing technology to support accessibility without sacrificing high expectations.
Grant funds will be used to purchase annual educator subscriptions to Gimkit, Quizlet, Blooket, and Wayground Premium. While some of these platforms offer limited free versions, premium access provides expanded instructional features, greater flexibility in activity creation and delivery, enhanced accommodations, and more robust student performance data. Rather than investing in a single platform, funding multiple complementary resources will allow me to select the tool that best fits each instructional goal and the needs of my students. The subscriptions will be used throughout the school year for formative assessment, vocabulary development, content review, collaborative learning, independent practice, remediation, and enrichment. This funding will directly support classroom instruction by removing the financial barrier to premium educational technology and providing students with consistent access to engaging, differentiated learning experiences throughout the year.
