The goal of this project is to expand access to books and learning resources for students in grades 6–8. By creating a welcoming and engaging alternative library, we will give students opportunities to strengthen their literacy skills, explore their curiosity, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our goal is to make sure every student has access to resources that inspire them to read, discover, and grow.
Through regular opportunities to read independently, discover new topics, and share their interests with peers, students will develop stronger reading habits and greater enthusiasm for learning. The project will create an inviting space where students can explore, ask questions, discover new ideas, and develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.
The project will benefit students in grades 6–8 by increasing access to engaging books and learning resources that support their academic and personal growth. Students will have more opportunities to strengthen reading and comprehension skills, expand their vocabulary, explore new interests, and build confidence as learners. The welcoming environment will also encourage students to read for enjoyment, discover topics they are curious about, and develop positive reading habits. Ultimately, the project will help create a stronger culture of literacy and learning while ensuring that all students have access to resources that inspire them to read, discover, and grow.
Purpose:
The purpose of this budget is to purchase books through Amazon and book bins to create an organized, accessible, and engaging book collection. The books will support literacy, reading development, educational enrichment, and a positive reading environment for the individuals we serve.
Budget Narrative:
Funds will be used to purchase a variety of books through Amazon based on the reading interests, educational needs, and developmental levels of participants. The book collection will provide access to age-appropriate and engaging materials that encourage reading, learning, and literacy development.
In addition to the books, funds will be used to purchase book bins for storage and organization. The bins will provide a designated, easy-to-access space for the books and help keep the collection organized, protected, and readily available for participants.
Together, the books and storage bins will create a well-organized literacy resource that can be used on an ongoing basis. This investment will maximize the usefulness of the materials while creating an inviting and accessible reading environment.
