To provide students with engaging, high-quality science, math and ELA supplemental lessons through videos and activities, to reinforce the content taught in our curriculum. Generation Genius, helps increase student understanding of science, math and ELA concepts, strengthens critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, makes connections to real-world experiences and improves student engagement and achievement while still being tied to our Florida standards. Additionally, one of our school goals is to target our subgroups and the lowest 25% based on last years state assessment data.
Students will be able to participate in engaging videos and activities aligned with grade-level standards. Students will ask questions, have discussions, and make explanations using evidence. Generation Genius will meet the needs of students by providing engaging lessons that make difficult topics easier to understand. It also supports a variety of learners through videos, discussions and investigations. Generation Genius provides teachers with high-quality supplemental resources that can be incorporated with our curriculum.
There are many benefits to using Generation Genius in collaboration with our curriculum.

5. According to Generation Genius the program covers 92% of Florida's State Academic Standards for Science and is aligned with the B.E.S.T. standards for ELA and Generation Genius is currently working on aligning the math program to our Florida standards.

7. Generation Genius helps to get students more engaged in talking and interacting with the content and it provides standards-aligned videos, lesson plans, vocabulary, reading materials, hands-on activities, discussion questions, quizzes, and exit tickets which can provide feedback for teachers.
The funding will be used to purchase a yearlong subscription for Generation Genius for all of Bear Creek Elementary School. The subscription for the school comes with an unlimited number of logins so every teacher will be able to use the program, unlimited content for Science, Math and ELA, and unlimited student logins. Students will demonstrate a stronger understanding of grade-level science, math and ELA standards, students will be more engaged and active participants with the hands-on activities, and they will be able to strengthen their problem-solving skills, collaboration and communication skills. Teachers will see the benefit of this program through our district created assessments, observations, and students produced work, and state assessments. Since our school goal is to target our subgroups and the lowest 25%, Generation Genius would allow teachers to incorporate videos, partner talk, small group learning, and a written response, which would help us achieve our goal.
