Additional Details
The Physical Education and Health department at Seacrest Country Day School is committed to the education of the whole child, fostering academic, social-emotional, and physical growth. This project aims to enhance our physical education curriculum by acquiring essential equipment that supports developmentally appropriate activities for students from Preschool through 5th Grade. By providing opportunities for skill-based games and fitness challenges, we strive to build gross motor skills, promote physical health, and instill a lifelong appreciation for wellness, teamwork, and healthy activity.
The equipment purchased via this grant will be used by the Seacrest Lower School students (Preschool through 5th Grade) during their twice weekly P.E. classes. The equipment will support the physical education curriculum plans and developmentally appropriate P.E. goals for each grade level.
The Physical Education Enhancement Project aims to support the education of the whole child by enhancing the physical education curriculum with developmentally appropriate equipment. Key benefits include: Physical Development, Health and Wellness, Social-Emotional Growth, and Cognitive Skill Building.
The requested funding is essential for the acquisition of new, developmentally appropriate equipment that serves as the foundation for our expanded Physical Education curriculum. These resources are critical to supporting our student physical health initiatives, ensuring that every child from Preschool through 5th Grade has access to the tools necessary for building gross motor skills and fostering a lifelong commitment to wellness. While the procurement will be managed through vendors such as School Specialty as a tax-exempt purchase, the primary purpose of these funds is to directly enable the enhanced educational and health outcomes outlined in this proposal.
